The darkness inside us

I’m the wrath in the eyes of enemies,
I’m the greedy shine of unequal deals,
A clamp tightened on the neck of simpletons
And bitterness of kings,
Pinned one’s back to the wall
For their felonies.

I’m a black hole that turned into a path
For the herd — mindless and impulsive,
That blindly drags you
To the grip of a ruthless wrath,
With force — relentless and destructive.

I’m part of the story, burned up on the stake,
The cry, rushing out from the broken souls.
I’m the darkness that will cover hearts with rage,
Once you give me a chance, I’ll crawl.
